RTX Terrain Explore
A downloadable game for Linux
Funny thing
Vulkan 1.4 is required.
The NVIDIA Driver keeps doing something weird and slowing it down in some situations, close all windows while its running.
Please post your specs and how much fps it gave you! My RTX2050 (integrated graphics) got 301 fps (as seen in the screenshot)
The way it works is that it calculates a ray for every pixel on the screen and every time the ray moves forward it does a perlin noise calculation to check if its in line, which is why its so laggy. It tries a very odd usecase of compute shaders that would rather be ran on CPU but works very well in parallel.
The FPS meter is calculated from the MS meter, which is timed from every third frame.
